Texas Early Voting Tracker — Nov 3, 2026 General BETA

Data as of: see below
How to read thisTexas doesn't register voters by party, so there is no party split here: the counts show how many ballots are in, not who they are for. Comparisons line up 2026 with past elections at the same number of days before Election Day. Early ballots are not a forecast of the result. Methods & sources

What the numbers say

Early votes cast, by days before Election Day

Cumulative early in-person voters + mail ballots received, from Texas SOS daily county turnout reports. 2026 in bold; dots = actual reports. Statewide (all 254 counties) exists only from 2020 on; the 30 largest counties view (~79% of registered voters) adds 2018 on the same county set. In-person early voting opens 15 days out in every cycle shown.

Added per report: last 7 reports (2026)

In-person voters on that day (dark) and change in mail ballots received (light), statewide.

In-person voters by day of early voting

Voters on each day of the early-voting period (day 1 = opening Monday), statewide; 2018 = 30 largest counties only.

Early turnout as % of registered voters

Cumulative early votes ÷ registered voters, same days-out. Corrects for registration growth (17.7M in 2022 → 19.0M in 2026).

Largest counties: 2026 vs same point in 2024 / 2022

Data coverage & gaps

Sources & caveats

    • No party data. Texas has no party registration, and SOS turnout reports carry no party or race. Party estimates (e.g., by primary-vote history) would need the voter-level rosters joined to a voter file. Not done here.
    • Before early voting opens, the 2026 mail count is incomplete. On the new SOS reporting system (Civix, used since 2025), only a minority of counties had posted mail-ballot counts as of the latest report (e.g., Bexar, El Paso, Hidalgo near zero). Pre-Oct 19 comparisons reflect county reporting, not voter behavior.
    • 2018: SOS published daily turnout only for the 30 counties with the most registered voters, and only from the first day of early voting (no pre-EV mail series). Statewide daily reporting began in 2020.
    • Figures are unofficial, as reported by counties to the SOS; counties revise earlier days, and the latest capture of each report date is used. Mail = mail ballots received (accepted counts aren't reported). 2018 SOS pages show a 10-vote gap between the county rows and their own total on Oct 25. County rows are used.
    • Report dates are data dates (votes through the close of that day). Weekend reports exist; Sunday in-person hours are limited.
