How to read thisParty split = the registered party of voters who have already cast ballots, not who they voted for. Comparisons line up 2026 with past elections at the same number of days before Election Day. Oregon has not posted its first 2026 report yet, so only past cycles appear until it does. What the numbers say
Ballots returned, cumulative
Oregon Secretary of State "Daily Ballot Returns" report (official). Past cycles are summed from the report's ballots-returned-per-day row in the final pre-canvass version (Internet Archive copy). The 2026 report hasn't been published yet. 2024 was presidential.
Ballots returned per report day
Ballots the state logged on each report day (weekends fold into Monday).
Party share of ballots returned
From the report's party pages on the days archived copies exist (the state replaces the file daily). Dated by report.

- No 2026 numbers yet. Oregon posts its first daily report about 18 days out (Oct 18 in 2024, Oct 21 in 2022). civicAPI has no Oregon data. This page fills in automatically once the report is posted.
- Daily counts come from final versions. Each day's count is as shown in the last pre-canvass report, which can differ slightly from what was posted that day.
- No 2018 series: the 2018 report is no longer on the state site, and the Internet Archive didn't respond.
- Oregon publishes no age, gender or race in this report, so there are no demographic charts. "Nonaffiliated" voters are separate from the Independent Party.
Law changes that affect comparisons
Rule changes between cycles can shift how (not just how many) people vote early. Keep these in mind when comparing to past years.
- 2021 · HB 3291 (first used 2022): mailed ballots count if postmarked by Election Day and received within 7 days. In 2018 ballots had to arrive by 8 p.m. Election Day, which pushed returns earlier. SOS FAQ
- All vote-by-mail since 1998 (unchanged). 2026 ballots must be postmarked by Nov 3 and received by Nov 10. SOS 2026 calendar
